Come Down the Mile: poetry walks in Edinburgh's Old Town

  • St Giles' Cathedral High Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 1RE United Kingdom (map)

"Ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of poetry while exploring the historic streets of Edinburgh? Join us for poetry walks down the iconic Royal Mile in the heart of the city's Old Town. Let the rhythm of the verse guide you through cobbled lanes and hidden closes, as we uncover the poetic soul of this ancient capital. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience the magic of words amidst architectural treasures and centuries of history."

Well, that's what the AI came up with, which isn't wrong. I'll just add that the walks are led by me, Ken Cockburn, that I read poems by famous Scots like Burns and Stevenson, and those with outside perspectives such as Victor Hugo and 'The Silent Traveller', plus some of their modern counterparts. And as well as "historic streets, cobbled lanes and hidden closes" we'll also enjoy some green shade in gardens and graveyards.
